1. Overview
Ontelya (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
2. Data We Collect
Waitlist
When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address, a generated referral code, and basic metadata (signup timestamp, referral source). We also record your IP address for rate-limiting purposes only. It is not used for tracking or marketing.
Platform (Future)
When the platform launches, we will collect account information (email, name, institutional affiliation), uploaded documents, and extracted data. Uploaded PDFs are processed for extraction and are not stored permanently by default. Configurable retention policies will give you full control over data lifecycle.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To communicate about your waitlist status and product updates
- To provide, maintain, and improve our services
- To process and extract knowledge from your uploaded documents
- To prevent abuse and ensure platform security
We do not sell your data. We do not use your uploaded documents to train AI models. Your research data belongs to you.
4. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored in encrypted PostgreSQL databases. All communications use TLS. We follow industry-standard security practices. See our Security page for more details.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. See our GDPR page for deletion procedures. To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@ontelya.com.
